- Summary
- Cita and its scientific group present a robust scientific activity focused on agronomic research and adaptation to climate change, focused on the production of aromatic and medicinal plants and on the agroecological transition for dairy cattle. This work is carried out under the coordination of the LIFE Pyrenees4Clima project, funded by the European Union, and linked to the LIFE EFACC initiative, which adapts ruminants to changing climates. The initiative also promotes the viability of livestock farms through the installation of Eddy Covariance Stations and Germplasm Banks. In addition, scientific activity includes the adaptation of climate-smart crops to mitigate the effect of climate change, as demonstrated by the new LIFE EFACC project, collaborating with the European Union. In family farming, Aragon farmers actively participate in the LIFE Pyrenees4Clima project, promoting the cultivation of aromatic and medicinal plants and promoting the creation of a cross-border mountain community. The research also includes the creation of new conservation varieties, such as the Muniesa White Bean, registered in the Registry of Commercial Varieties, which seeks to preserve the native biodiversity of Spain.
