Summary

This summary presents three central philosophical and narrative aspects of documentary films in Germany: How can nature and animals be grasped in a new, less anthropocentric perspective? What filmic means are available? How do we deal with the unequal relationship between humans and nature? These topics are addressed through three film discussions in collaboration between director Antonia Simm and Tobi Krell and her friend Valerie in the episode "The Secret Ruler of the Earth" under the motto "More than man: Documentary works that focus away from human actions and being, towards animals and nature or illuminate their relationship to humans". Afterwards, the audience will be invited to the film theater association Aibvision with insights into the making of the film.
