Summary

This initiative serves as a vital bridge between Maine's educational institutions and nature by providing essential resources such as grants, equipment, and year-round support. Through these programs, schools can cultivate thriving outdoor clubs where students learn to enjoy life-changing outdoor experiences in safe and supervised environments. The Teen To Trails program further complements this strategy by focusing specifically on the development of teacher expertise. Its goal is to equip educators with necessary certifications and skills to lead outdoor classes with confidence. Together, these efforts empower both students and teachers to engage deeply with the outdoors, fostering a positive learning environment that supports physical growth and overall educational success across the state.
