Summary

We acknowledge that Indigenous territories exist across multiple nations within the specific area where the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta encompasses a vast expanse. This includes the Blackfoot Confederacy which consists of four distinct First Nations: the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai, and Tsuutina. Additionally, the Stoney Nakoda Nation also operates in this zone, and it includes their own sub-tribes such as the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney nations that live within the same legal boundary. All of these distinct groups hold a sacred right to land for generations, ensuring no single power or corporation should claim exclusive control over this traditional territory.
