The discussion about how we selectively perceive different truths and opinions and distinguish between scientific truth and popular false truth is becoming more widespread in times of fake news, deepfakes and AI.

These topics form the basis for a Freedom of Expression Week in 2026. They note that we must change our perception systems in order to successfully move forward in a democratic society.
